Courses:

• Oxbridge Medica Revision Course: a popular course, now held online over 4 days in January by Pathology Spheres (part of Oxbridge Medica). Costs £300 (£75 to be paid ahead of time as a deposit). Click here for more information.

• PathSoc Winter School: this can be more Part 2-focused however still touches on general pathology topics so it can be useful for ST2+ trainees. Delivered online over 5 days in February. Costs £250 for PathSoc members (£400 for non-members). Click here for more information.

• BDIAP Cut Up Study Day: mandatory for ST1s and extremely helpful, teaching the basics of cut up for each speciality. The course fee can be claimed from your trust’s study budget.

• BDIAP Molecular Study Days: as with the above, this is a very good 1-day intro to the basics of molecular studies. From Spring 2027, this will be split into two days: one for junior trainees to cover the basics and a second day for more senior trainees/consultants to address more complex strategies and new developments.

• RCPath Sample Questions: a short document, more so to help understand the depth and phrasing of questions than revision.

• Robbins Pathological Basis of Disease: the 11th edition of this comprehensive textbook is now out.

• Quick Reference Handbook for Surgical Pathologists: covers useful areas like important differentials, IHC panels and syndromes.

• Tadrous Diagnostic Criteria Handbook in Histopathology: the chapter on autopsies is useful for Part 1.
